The Media Marketplace is perhaps one of the most anticipated hosted during our annual conference – it is anticipated that nearly 2000 appointments will be held over two morning sessions!
Appointment selection process will OPEN following the close of registration, and is expected to OPEN in May.
*NOTE: Due to capacity, we are limited to 80 Industry Appointment Tables.
When Media Marketplace Appointment ‘selection’ OPENS, each delegate – media and industry – will have the ability to request up to 30 individual appointments, based on best matches, up to 24 individual appointments can be booked.

Appointments are15 minutes in length hosted during the conference.
A floor plan with assigned INDUSTRY Appointment Tables will be provided in May and will be specified within the delegate confirmed Appointment Schedule in early June.
For Industry members:
Seated at your 8ft draped ‘table’ this will be your opportunity to meet, one-on-one, with media members, to share news and updates from your destinations and properties – your successes and intentions for 2023 and beyond. This is your opportunity to engage and leverage the power of travel media to help you and our tourism industry continue to rebound from the devastating impacts of COVID-19.
Complimentary Wi-Fi is available, access to power may be limited (be sure your digital devices are charged upon arrival)
For Media members:
You’ll gain insights and inspiration for your upcoming assignments – secured and freelance – potentially for the entire year ahead! Attendance at the conference requires Media Members to attend at least 18 appointments to qualify for Travel Grant support.
IMPORTANT STEPS / DATES (Will be clarified after registration closes on April 30 or upon selling out)

2. Appointment Requests ‘acceptance’ or ‘decline’: Late May
3. Appointment Schedule Available – early June.
Your Conference Schedule ‘tab' will be ‘visible’ and populated with your appointments for quick reference.
4. Appointment Schedule Changes – TBA June
During this time you can extend and accept/decline appointments based on availability.
5. FINAL Appointment Schedule – TBA June
Your Conference Schedule ‘tab’ will be populated with all your appointments, uneditable after this time. This will be your final 2023 Media Marketplace Appointment Schedule.
REVIEW & CHANGE Appointments Directions
1. Log into travelmedia.ca, select MY TMAC PROFILE tab (found in the top right hand side, above the menu bar).
2. Click on the tab MEDIA MARKETPLACE APPOINTMENTS and it will provide you with your confirmed schedule, as well as, a list of all delegates who are confirmed, have availability, have requested an appointment with you, or do not have availability.
In the top section you will see your confirmed MEDIA MARKETPLACE APPOINTMENTS with dates and times.
Below this you, you will see a list of delegates and the status, where applicable, if an appointment and/or the opportunity to request an appointment is listed, you will see INVITE as an option.
3) NEXT: You have some decisions to make!
If you want to KEEP an appointment, do nothing – you've got this appointment scheduled!
If you want to DECLINE this appointment, click CANCEL APPOINTMENT. This time slot will automatically become available for both delegates and an email will be sent that conveys a message indicating you've reviewed the profile and feel a meeting at this time would be better suited to someone else, therefore you are removing them from your appointment schedule to allow for new invitations.
If you want to extend NEW INVITATIONS, in the list of delegates on the bottom section, if they have an appointment time slot that matches your schedule availability, INVITE will appear. Click INVITE and the status will change to Your invitation is pending and the request will automatically be sent. If accepted, you will receive notification and the booked time slot will appear.
If you want to ACCEPT NEW INVITATIONS, when someone has requested an appointment with you (because your schedule indicated you had availability), you will automatically receive a notification. ACCEPT INVITATION will be displayed – you will need to click accept or decline.
WHAT’S NEXT?
CHECK BACK DAILY until 12:00pm EDT on June 15!
As you, and others, continue to decline and invite over the next few days, there will be new opportunities to update your Media Marketplace Schedule. Just proceed through the above process until all your appointment slots are filled or you run out of options.
On June 16 at 12:00pm EDT, your Conference Schedule ‘tab' will be populated with your confirmed Media Marketplace appointments and ready for your reference for the 2021 TMAC Virtual Conference

How it Works:
Once Conference Registration CLOSES on May 6th, we will have our confirmed delegate attendance list. Media Marketplace is available only to those delegates registered for the conference.
Delegates will receive an invitation within 2 weeks of May 6th, indicating that the Media Marketplace is OPEN May 19. At this time you are invited – industry and media – to make your appointment selections for Media Marketplace.The Media Marketplace CLOSES May 27.
- Industry will be invited to select at least 24 media members with whom they would like to meet (based on a review of the media profiles within our TMAC website).
- Media will be invited to select at least 24 Industry members with whom they would like to meet (based on a review of the Industry profiles within our TMAC website)
Once the Media Marketplace CLOSES, we will generate your individualized Media Marketplace Appointment Schedule (Goal: June 1).
This schedule is generated based on perfect matches first – when industry and media have selected each other for appointments. The balance will be based on best matches give appointment schedule availability. Changes to this schedule can be done by individual members once the schedules have been issued.
Industry Members, you will be provided with a draped ‘table’ from which to host your appointments. Space will be limited to table top displays, wi-fi and power will be available.
*Please Note: If two people are registered from the same company, only the primary registered delegate will have ability to request appointments.
