As Canada's largest hotel with 1,590 guest rooms, the Chelsea Hotel, Toronto – a full-service urban resort – is centrally located in the downtown core. The 2024 investment – the most extensive since 2013 – includes 993 guestrooms in the Chelsea Tower. As Canada’s largest hotel, this translates into two thirds of the hotel’s room product. With a total investment of close to $60 million, additional refurbishments include, renovated lobby, a new lobby bar and extensive upgrades to all function/meeting/banquet facilities. The hotel recently completed a $25 million facelift that took place over the course of 2023 and extended to 600 guestrooms in the Executive Tower, hotel corridors throughout the hotel, modernization, and refurbishment of the Executive Tower elevators. Additionally, there was a refurbishment of the Market Garden Restaurant including new carpet and furniture, while our full-service restaurant, Elm Street Bar & Lounge, has undergone a remarkable enhancement. This included an expansion to double the seating capacity and the addition of new furniture and lighting. The hotel also engaged in a Wi-Fi upgrade investment of C$2.3 million offering guests a significant improvement for streaming multiple devices. The hotel continues to achieve the coveted EarthCheck Gold Certification. The Chelsea continues to support SickKids Foundation and achieved a fundraising goal of $1 million over a ten year period. A partnership between the hotel and Toronto Bee Rescue has been helping to preserve Canada’s bee population, which is responsible for pollinating flowering plants, fruits, and vegetables.
