I have lived in Thunder Bay my entire life, and have been involved in the community since I was young. My love for travelling started when I was young, when I would travel for sport activities and with family. That love led me to take the Tourism Course in college where I learned more in the tourism industry. After college I started my tourism career as a summer student with our municipality, and for the next 20+ years I worked at both of our local information centre, the Terry Fox Information Centre, and the Pagoda Information Centre. It was there that my love for the industry grew while talking with tourists from both across Canada and the world. I enjoyed telling them about some of the City of Thunder Bay's amazing sights including its parks, conservation areas, local attractions and other unique attractions.
In May of 2021. I began the position of Digital & Travel Media Officer with Tourism Thunder Bay and have enjoyed working with journalist and influencers. By creating a personalized itinerary, I make each visit unique to the writer or content creators needs. While doing this I enjoy the pleasure of working with many of our local partners, and industry partners.
While not at work I enjoy spending time with my family in the great outdoors, including day hikes or a weekend out on the lake fishing. While not enjoying the outdoors, we like exploring Thunder Bay's great attractions, and take in events throughout the city including Winter Fun Days, Live on the Waterfront, and many others. We also enjoy some travelling in the region to some of the small towns including my husband's hometown of Red Rock.
If you were to ask me what Thunder Bay has to offer a visitor. A simple answer would be the great outdoors. Being located on the edge of the world's largest area of boreal forest, and the shores of the world's largest freshwater lake, Lake Superior, Thunder Bay is a vibrant urban community in a wilderness setting. Thunder Bay offers visitors vibrant culinary and cultural experiences including indigenous arts, local farm to table experiences, events, and both natural and historical attractions.
