Debbie Olsen is an Alberta-based Métis freelance writer who is a regular columnist for the Calgary Herald and is the managing editor of  Wander Woman Travel Magazine. Debbie freelances for many publications including BBC Travel, AFAR Magazine, Travel & Leisure, Condé Nast Traveler, Postmedia, Dreamscapes, Vacay, Canadian Geographic, Travelife, TravelAge West Magazine and others. Olsen has contributed to 15 guidebooks for Fodor's and Lonely Planet and has written four travel books – including one Globe and Mail bestseller. She has been working as a professional writer for more than twenty years and has won awards for her writing and her photography. Debbie loves adventure, history, nature, photography, great food and family – not in that order. She often travels with her husband, Greg Olsen, an award-winning photographer who is also a TMAC member.
