Presenter Bio

As President & CEO of the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario (TIAO), Beth Potter leads the advocacy efforts for the tourism industry – promoting the importance of tourism as an economic driver and job creator for Ontario – by fostering a collaborative relationship between business owners, tourism organizations and governments.  Collectively, TIAO represents close to 200,000 businesses and close to 400,000 employees that are dedicated to promoting and operating the Province's tourism infrastructure.  

An involved leader, Beth routinely works in partnership with other organizations to advance the policy work that TIAO undertakes on behalf of the industry.  These partnerships include the Council of the Great Lakes, and the World Travel & Tourism Council, the international organization that works to raise awareness of Travel & Tourism as one of the world's largest economic sectors. 

A recognized leader with more than 25 years of experience in the not-for-profit and tourism sectors, Beth has worked with a variety of boards, committees and volunteers across the tourism industry and from all walks of life.  She carries a firm belief that volunteers make the world go around, and has proudly served on many industry boards, including the Ontario Chamber of Commerce.  She currently holds a board seat for the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and for Tourism HR Canada.

Host Bios

Kate Vrancart joined Destination Ontario (DO) in February 2020. As Director, Industry Relations and Communications, she is responsible for partnerships, outreach and regional relations with government and private sector stakeholders, as well as domestic and international earned media programs. Kate comes to DO with 20+ years of communications experience in public relations agencies and the Government of Ontario. Kate grew up camping in Ontario's parks, has travelled extensively, and is proud to call Ontario home.

Jessica Halliday is a communications and marketing professional with over 7+ years of experience in the public relations and communications industry. With this experience, Jessica has the ability recognize and capitalize on industry trends in order to reach target demographics. She has the ability successfully contribute to the development and execution of a variety of tactical communication plans with a focus on overseeing content and social production.
