TURNER is contracted for U.S. public relations efforts for Tourism Toronto, focusing on traditional online, print, and broadcast media outlets. In addition to media relations, the team (with members in New York City and Denver), is responsible for press/FAM coordination, in-market media missions, special events and trade show representation. While Toronto has previously been a premier global destination for travelers worldwide, with the increased popularity with other Canadian cities – such as Vancouver and Montreal – their PR coverage in the U.S. was waning. With a strategy that highlighted Toronto’s diverse neighborhoods, growing culinary and beer scene, and unique cultural offerings, TURNER was able to put Toronto back in the conversation with top tier outlets and niche tastemaker publications. In 2015, the city was featured in everything from The New York Times, Travel + Leisure, Budget Travel, and Lonely Planet to FWx, Thrillist, PopSugar and Yahoo! Style.
