Orlando, the most visited destination in the U.S. and Theme Park Capital of the World kicks off 2023 with a wide a range of all-new experiences for visitors to enjoy – from the world’s first-ever “surf coaster” and immersive escape rooms inspired by beloved blockbuster films, to a new luxury resort and high-speed rail connecting Miami to Orlando. Orlando becomes more accessible with new nonstop airlift offerings out of Toronto via Jetlines and Lynx Air, beginning January 2023.

New for 2023, the Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando — Disney Springs® Area offers guests complimentary hot breakfast, shuttle service to all four Walt Disney World® Resort theme parks and heavy evening snacks and beverages. For foodies, Rosa Mexicano opens its first Orlando-area location in the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin in early 2023. The menu showcases a contemporary interpretation of authentic Mexican cuisine, including beloved classics and innovative dishes that pay tribute to Mexico’s richly varied culinary regions. Dizzy Donuts, from Pizza Bruno’s Bruno Zacchini, opened in early 2023 in College Park. Tapping into Zacchini’s love of cake donuts, Dizzy Donuts will serve hot, made-to-order donuts tossed in different toppings, as well as already prepared donuts dressed in more elaborate flavour creations.
Orlando, the destination with fireworks 365 days of the year, is hosting a special spectacle for July 4, with celebrations at iconic parks, such as Disney World, Universal Studios and LEGOLAND. Summer is also a fantastic time to experience the thrill of Central Florida’s eco-tourism. The natural springs at Blue Spring State Park, De Leon Springs State Park, Rock Springs Run State Preserve at Kelly Park and Wekiwa Springs State Park offer incredible outdoor adventures that must be experienced with such companies as Epic Paddle Adventures and Get Up and Go Kayaking. The Alfond Inn at Rollins, an award-winning boutique hotel in the heart of historic Winter Park, unveils its renovated 112 existing rooms and suites and will add an additional 71 luxury guestrooms and suites in August. The upgrade includes additional meeting space, a lobby café and a new spa with seven treatment rooms. A variety of Canadian carriers offer direct flights from Hamilton (YHM) to Orlando (MCO and SFB), including the addition of low-cost airline Swoop.
Recently, the destination also unveiled the Brightline Orlando Station at Orlando International Airport, which will connect Miami and Orland, with a travel time of two hours and 59 minutes for Brightline’s non-stop trains. Regular service from Orlando to Miami will be longer — three hours and 30 minutes — because there will be stops at Brightline stations in West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale and Aventura.
